A 26-stroke improvement on day two helped John Carroll move up the ladder into a ninth-place finish at the 2009 Wittenberg Spring Invitational, which concluded Sunday at Windy Knoll Golf Club in Springfield, Ohio.
JCU carded a 385 on day one and stood in 11th place after the first round, but turned things around and shot a 359 on day two to finish at 744. The 359 on Sunday was the seventh best team score of the afternoon.
Ashley Pettibon led the way with rounds of 91 and 85 for a tally of 176 to place 31st. Maura Reilly put together scores of 91 and 86 for a final count of 177, tying her for 32nd place.
Kristen Courtney also earned a top 50 showing, as he rounds of 97 and 89 gaver her a final score of 186 and a tie for 44th place.
