Ben Adams has made two trips to the NCAA Championships, and now two trips to the winners circle of the Academic All-OAC At-Large list
Senior wrestlers Matt Harmon and Dan Mizener and junior Ben Adams were all selected as winners for on the 2008-2009 Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference Men's At-Large team.
The men's at-large winners consist of student-athletes from the sports of wrestling, golf, swimming and diving and tennis.
Harmon, a political science major with a 3.41 grade point average, was selected as a Academic All-OAC winner for the second time this season. Also an Academic All-OAC recipient in football, Harmon was the 2009 OAC runner-up at 197 pounds.
Mizener, a first time Academic all-OAC winner, is a Communications major with a 3.38 GPA. In 2009, Mizener captured his first OAC title at 149 pounds and qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships.
Adams is picking up his second Academic All-OAC award in as many years. An Economics/Finance double major with a 3.68 GPA, Adams won his second consecutive 184-pound title at the OAC Championships and qualified for his second national championship tournament this season.
To be eligible for Academic All-OAC, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point, be a starter or key reserve and be in at least his second year of participation in the sport.
