While the winter blues are just about at their peak, the baseball team has only one thing on their minds - Spring Training. After making the Ohio Athletic Conference tournament last season with an overall record of 24-12, the Blue Streaks are confident about this year's campaign.

"The roster looks great to me on paper, " head coach Marc Thibeault said. "Now is the time for these individuals to vault the program into a new category. Now, it is time for this roster to go beyond and build off of last season's success. Everyone from coaches, players, personnel who were involved with the program need to commit and understand that 4th place in the OAC was great for 2009. We need to do better in 2010."

The Blue Streaks open play this season in the SnowBird Tournament, a very competitive tournament in Port Charlotte, FL. Their schedule will feature two games against perennial DIII powerhouse, North Carolina Wesleyan College.

The regular season will see the Streaks head down to the College of Wooster, the Division III National Runner-Up a year ago. Double headers against Otterbein and Marietta at Schweikert Field as well as back to back contests at Heidelberg should challenge John Carroll within the conference this season too.

"I am excited to see us on the field again. Our returners have made a commitment to exceeding expectations. We have recruited winners and I am looking forward to seeing how they respond to the demands of a college schedule. The whole program has dedicated itself to a championship atmosphere. I see a championship in our future."
