Rudy Kirbus raked in a regional honor in 2010 to go with alongside his all-conference prize
For the second consecutive year, John Carroll senior forward
Rudy Kirbus (Willoughby Hills, OH, Cleveland St. Ignatius) was selected to the D3hoops.com All-Great Lakes Region first team.
This announcement comes on the heels of Kirbus being named All-Ohio Athletic Conference last week.
A D3hoops.com preseason All-American, Kirbus was second on the team in scoring with 12.9 points per game, and second on the team in rebounding with 4.7 boards per game.
Kirbus' career concluded on March 6th when the Blue Streaks had their season ended by Guilford College for the second consecutive year, this time in the second round of the NCAA tournament. He wraps up his career with 1,358 points and a 78-36 (.684) record as a Blue Streak.
As the lone Blue Streak named to the All-Great Lakes region squad, Kirbus was joined on the first team by Ian Franks (G - Wooster), Peter Bunn (G- Hope), Kyle Meyer (F - Ohio Northern) and Michael McClary (C - Olivet).
Players were nominated for these awards by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools.
