John Carroll University sophomore
John Cobos was tabbed Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week for his effort in victories over Muskingum and Heidelberg in the final week of the 2010-11 regular season.
Cobos began the week by pinning Shawn Feistamel of Muskingum on Tuesday night. His fall in a time of 1:57 in the 125-pound bout kick started an 18-point run at the start of the match that led to a 27-19 victory.
Leading off the night on Friday against Heidelberg, Cobos surrendered a single point on an escape to post a 7-1 victory over Devin Mazik. He had one of six wins for the Blue Streaks as part of a 21-12 victory over the defending OAC champion Student Princes.
In earning the award, Cobos is the first Blue Streaks to be named OAC Wrestler of the Week since
Bryan Steinmetz was selected on November 29, 2010.
