The men's soccer team made its second consecutive trip to the OAC Tournament Finals in 2012
The John Carroll men's athletic teams finished second in the 2012-13 Ohio Athletic Conference All Sports Standings, and the Blue Streak women collectively placed fifth among the 10 conference schools.
The Blue & Gold finished in the Top 5 in both men and women's sports despite not winning a single team conference championship during the athletic year.
JCU's men earned a total score of 66.25 on the strength of a number of second and third place league performances.
The men's soccer team started the year off right, placing second in the OAC and reaching the conference tournament final. The cross country squad then achieved the highest finish in program history with a third place score at the OAC meet in the Fall. Indoor and outdoor track & field both took home second at their respective OAC Championships. In the Spring, baseball became the OAC regular season runner-up, and Alex DiPalma led the men's golf team to a third place league finish after earning medalist honors.
For the women, the soccer Streaks reached the OAC Championship after a 4-2-3 league record. Meanwhile, the cross country team ran to third place in conference and eighth at the 2012 Great Lakes Regionals. Representing winter sports in the league's upper echelon was women's swimming & diving, which grabbed third at the OAC Championships. In the Spring, the softball team earned second in the conference and an at-large bid to the NCAA Regionals in Angola, Indiana. Additionally, the tennis team reached the OAC semifinals in Cincinnati for the fourth consecutive season to help JCU earn a total score of 47.25, close behind Capital (48.75) in the All Sports Standings.
Mount Union won the All Sports Trophy in both men and women's sports.
