Mapes set the bar extremely high this past weekend at the OAC Gold Meet with impressive performances in both the 3,000 Steeplechase and the 4 x 800 Relay events. In the 3,000 Steeplechase, Mapes flew by the competition as she finished the event with a time of 11:22.97, a mark that was 19 seconds faster than the next best. That time was also the fastest time for an OAC athlete in that event this year, and was also good enough for the 14th best finish time in Division III. Mapes also helped secure a victory in the 4 x 800 Relays as she partnered with freshman Haley Turner and sophomores Gabriella Kreuz and Nicki Bohrer to record a finish time of 9:42.14, 23 seconds better than the next finish time.
