After playing last season off the bench, Gruber made her first collegiate start Saturday against Pitt-Greensburg. In JCU's 84-77 home opener loss to the Bobcats, Gruber had a double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. She led the team in blocks with three, and also had two steals.
