Marks had the longest wait of this year’s induction class, as he will enter the Hall of Fame 35 years after his last game.
A three-year letterwinner at fullback, Marks was twice a first team All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference selection, earning the honor in 1957 and 1959. In his career, he carried the ball 154 times for 874 yards for an average of 5.7 yards per attempt -- second only to Carl Taseff at the time of his graduation. His 6.3 yards per carry in 1959 was the third highest average at the time.
Marks helped JCU win PAC titles in both 1957 and 1959, the latter of which was the first undefeated season in program history.
