Bob was a member of the John Carroll Varsity Football team from 1962-1965.

Spicer earned All-Catholic All-American in 1963 and was named First-team All-PAC in 1963-64.

Served as Captain of the Blue Streaks in 1965 and was the teams leading rusher through 1963-65.
