Over the course of his career, the forward was All-Ohio and All-Region in each of his four years. He was first-team All-Region in 2001 and 2002, second-team in 2003 and third-team in 2000. He was the OAC Forward of the Year in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
Heslep ended his career with 122 points (1.65 per game) and 51 goals (0.69 per game), both of which rank first on the history of the program. He buried 18 game winning goals during his four years as well.
His excellence on the pitch was matched by his performance in the classroom, as Heslep was part of the Academic-All American team in 2001 and was chosen Academic All-District in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
Over the course of his four seasons, John Carroll made its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament when it captured the OAC tournament title in 2000. The Blue Streaks also qualified for NCAA postseason play in 2001 and 2003, the latter of which resulted in the program's first "Sweet 16" showing.
Heslep was part of OAC Regular Season Championships in 2001 and 2003, OAC Tournament Championships in 2000 and 2003, and the team record in his four years was 58-16-4, including 28-5-3 in the OAC.
