Ed set high standards for the Blue Streak football team after his four years at Carroll.

He was the only four-time ALL-PAC selection during his four years between 1966 and 1969.

At the time of his graduation he held the John Carroll record for most interceptions in a season with 10 and career interceptions with 21. He was also the captain of the PAC championship team during his senior season in 1969.
