J.J. Richardson graduated as one of the best shooters in the history of John Carroll men's basketball. At the time of his induction, Richardson was still the best player from behind-the-arc in program history.
He graduated with a 43.8 percent clip from three-point range and an 82.4 percent mark from the free-throw line. Richardson was a member of Blue Streaks basketball teams that set the tone for the program's winning tradition.
In 1996, he became the second player ever to earn first-team All-OAC honors en route to a spot on the NABC/Sears All-Great Lakes District team. As a senior, he was named to the academic All-OAC team and the Columbus Multimedia All-Great Lakes Region team.
Richardson was part of teams that won the 1994 and 1996 OAC championships and qualified for the NCAA Tournament in 1996 and 1997. His efforts helped the 1996-97 Blue Streaks to their second ever 20-win season.
