John Scheid was tremendously instrumental in helping John Carroll win its first Presidents' Athletic Conference track and field title in 1969, as the Blue Streaks edged Case Tech by just three points.
Over the course of his four years with the John Carroll track and field program, Scheid earned All-PAC honors a total of 11 times, winning five league titles.
On an individual level, he won the 100-yard dash in 1969, and the 220-yard dash in both 1969 and 1970. Scheid was also a member of the PAC champion 440-yard relay in both 1969 and 1972.
In Scheid's four years as a letter winner, the JCU track and field program won one PAC title and finished as conference runner-up twice. He graduated from JCU as a school outdoor record holder in the 100- and 220-yard dash, and as a member of the 440-yard relay.
