Marta Cutarelli helped bring upon a great era for volleyball at John Carroll. Cutarelli was huge in helping John Carroll finish with a 30-6 record and a PAC championship in 1988 in what was her senior season. At the conclusion of that year, she was voted Most Valuable Player in the PAC and led the team and league in kills per game.
Throughout her career, Cutarelli led the team in kills three times, service aces three times, digs twice and attack percentage once, proving her skill and versatility on the court. With 1,005 kills, she was the first player to reach that milestone in John Carroll history and she also graduated the all-time leader in career service aces.
Her leadership was also evident as she was a three-time All-PAC selection and team captain as both a junior and a senior.
