Mike Carswell was a tremendous asset to the outstanding John Carroll men's basketball team in the early 1980's. Carswell was a three-time All-Presidents' Athletic Conference choice as he was the team leader in rebounds in each of his final seasons. When Carswell graduated, he did so with the single-season school record for field goal percentage (.605 in 1983-84).
Carswell also graduated with the team records for blocked shots in a game, season, and career which ultimately showed his versatility on the court. At the end of his career, Carswell was top ten all-time in career points, field goal percentage, and rebounds. His most noted accomplishment was helping the Blue Streaks reach their first NCAA Division III Tournament in 1982-83.
