A three-time Division III All-American, Steve Voinovich was a member of one of the most accomplished golf teams in the history of the sport at John Carroll. Voinovich had his best finish at the national tournament in 1995, when he tied for second in the nation. Voinovich’s skills also helped the team place in the top ten of the nation in all four years of his career.
Voinovich was a three-time All-OAC golfer and was the runner-up in the OAC Championship tournament in both 1995 and 1997.
Over the course of his four years, Voinovich tallied 30 top ten finishes. He also won a number of regular season tournament titles.
Not only did Voinovich leave an impact on John Carroll’s golf team, but he did so on the national scale as well. Voinovich participated in two US Amateur Championships, was a member of the Tarheel Tour in 2003-2004, and has also played in a number of Nationwide Tour events such as the 2004 Lake Erie Charity Classic.
