Named All-Big Four center in 1933 and 1934. Was selected to the Cleveland Press College All-Star team by sportswriter Chuck Bang in 1934, after anchoring the team's offensive line and helping them reach a 10-4-4 mark from 1933-1934.

Played as a starter on the last JCU team coached by the legendary Ralph Vince, before he resigned and became Athletic Director in 1934.
