Mike Minjock and
Emily Mapes will represent the Blue Streaks at the meet, held from May 23-25.
After a third place and All-American performance as a long jumper at the 2012 Outdoor Championships, Minjock is back for more. His best leap this season (7.30 meters), achieved at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships, has him ranked seventh nationally in Division III going into the weekend. Minjock is scheduled to compete in the long jump at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23.
Sophomore
Emily Mapes is also becoming a veteran at the national outdoor meet. In a 2012 season in which she became the first JCU freshman to compete at a national championship track meet since 1995, the 3,000 meter steeplechase runner placed eighth overall to earn All-America status. In 2013, Mapes currently holds the seventh best time (10:39.89) in Division III, a mark she reached at the OAC Outdoor Championships. The women's 3,000 meter steeplechase will begin at 7:50 p.m. on Thursday, with the finals at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday.
