Sophomore Maureen Creighton earns the title of Athlete of the Week for contributing to John Carroll's ninth place finish at the 2011 Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship, for breaking a school record, and meeting a season-best mark.
Creighton won her heat in the 500 meter run final with a time of 1:20.63, placing her third in the overall standings and earning her ALL-OAC status.
Her outstanding performance also broke the school record. Ironically, she broke her own record which was set last week with a time of 1:21.28. Before her, the Blue Streak record was set by Markita Thompson with a time 1:23.73 in 2003.
In addition, Creighton placed 7th in the 4 x 200 relay and 6th in the 4x400 relay. During the 4 x400 relay Creighton, along with Bohrer, Keppler, and Kreuz, set a season-best time of 4:11.57K.
