Captured his first collegiate title by winning the 141-pound division at the 2007 Florida Citrus Open on December 29 in Fort Lauderdale. As the top seed, survived a pair of one-point matches to arrive at the championship bout, where he handled second-seeded Ryan Mulnix of Cornell, 7-2. Improved his season record to 11-4.
