Scored 24 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for John Carroll as the Blue Streaks finished as the runner-up at the 2008 Casa Mia Holiday Tournament hosted by DeSales University in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. Kirbus was the only Blue Streak to reach double figures in both games as JCu defeated Grove City (55-51) in the opening round before falling to the host school (97-80) in the championship game. Kirbus was 8-16 from the field, 4-8 from three-point range, and 4-5 from the free throw line in the tournament
