    A nearly perfect week of pitching is under the belt for the tallest player on the John Carroll University baseball roster: Brandon Maddern. The six foot nine inch southpaw registered a pair of victories for the Blue Streaks over Heidelberg and Muskingum.
    In his ninth start of the season, Maddern posted a line of 7 IP 1 H 0 R 0 ER 0 BB 6 K. Only two Heidelberg batters would reach base in the late afternoon battle from Tiffin, OH.
    After losing game one against Muskingum, the senior provided another dominant outing with a line of 6.1 IP 4 H 2 R 2 ER 1 BB 8 K. The Blue Streak offense supplied eight runs to give the lefty his sixth win on the season.     Maddern and fellow senior Aaron Lapaglia have anchored one of the better rotations in the Ohio Athletic Conference this season. Maddern has only allowed four runs in his last 28 innings pitched to lower his era from 5.27 to 3.25. Look for the senior to get even more opportunities with seven games left to be played on the 2016 regular season schedule.
