In the final game of the 2008 season, Buell had 18 tackles, six solo and 12 assists. In the 20-17 overtime loss to Otterbein, he also had 2.5 tackles for losses, one forced fumble and one quarterback sack for a loss of five yards. During the 2008 campaign, he totaled 104 tackles, second only to Mike Nettling on the team. In his two year career with the Blue Streaks, Buell, a senior, had 169 tackles, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and two sacks.
