On a team filled with young blood, Kovacs showed that senior leadership can be a great guide to success. On Friday versus Notre Dame College, she won the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 57.54. She also helped the 400 Yard Medley Relay place first. Against Mount Union College on Saturday, Kovacs placed first with a time of 26.83 in the 50 Yard Freestyle, and was second in the 100 Yard Freestyle. She again took part in a relay team on Saturday, this time the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, and helped pick up a second place finish. JCU as a team won over OAC opponent Mount Union to improve their dual meet record to 2-2, 2-1 in the OAC.
