Senior Dan DiRuzza broke through for his first career conference title to provide the top highlight of the weekend for the Blue Streaks as the John Carroll men finished ninth of ten teams at the 2008 Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships. DiRuzza was a large part of helping John Carroll tally 24 team points along with fellow senior Kevin McPeek. Seeded second in the field, DiRuzza captured the 1,000-meter title in a furious finish with a time of 2:33.39. His victory was worth ten team points. DiRuzza also had a hand in scoring five more team points as the anchor leg of the fourth place distance medley relay along with Jason Czerwinski, Tony Mihalich, and Nicholas Habursky in a time of 10:35.74.
