During the preseason, head coach Matt Lenhart was acting like someone who had bought a new car and was waiting for a chance to test drive it.

He simply wanted to see what his 2007-2008 Blue Streaks men's swimming and diving team could do in real competition. He found out in with a 122-83 win over Wilmington Friday night.

The rookies were impressive on the men's side, accounting for three individual wins and one relay victory. Max Wilberding won the 100-meter Back in 1:09.38, Nicholas Grady claimed first in the 400-meter Free with a time of 4:45.58, and the 200-meter free in 2:11.69 -- the latter by a nine second margin.

Wilbergding and Grady teamed with Nick Poling and Ryan Tipping for a win in the last race of the evening, the 200-meter medley relay. They clocked in at 1:51.79.

Veterans performed well also, led by Ryan Flaherty and his six second win in the 100-meter Free (1:06.77). Also claiming first were Ehren Eschmann in the 200-meter IM (2:34.54) and David Perchinske in the 50-meter free (27.27).
