John Carroll honored its two seniors tonight at Don Shula Stadium, and the team had hoped that the best present would be a victory.

Cara Pizzurro and Natty Naso would have to settle for a 1-1 tie against the visiting Wilmington College Quakers as a consolation prize.

Wilmington would stike first in the closing minutes of the half. Kristen Elam's corner kick dove into a pack of players in the box. Jenna Curcio had the first whack at it, and her shot caromed to a waiting Nikki Ambrus, who fired a shot into the upper left corner for the goal.

The Blue Streaks would answer in the 48th minute, as Caitlyn Walton got free in space and rocketed a shot from 30 yards out that beat the Quakers keeper into the upper right corner. The score would remain deadlocked at 1-1 after 90 minutes

Both teams had multiple chances to win the match in the extra time. Wilmington's Erica Fawley had a shot in the first overtime that struck the crossbar, while Elizabeth Daigler of John Carroll sent a shot across following a Pizzurro pass that glanced off the far post in the second overtime.

The tie puts John Carroll's record at 5-9-2 overall and 1-4-2 in the OAC, while Wilmington moves to 10-5-2 and 3-3-1.
