John Carroll was hoping to build upon an emotional win over Wilmington this past Friday on its senior night.
Unfortunately for the Blue Streaks, an inspired trio of Baldwin-Wallace seniors on their night to be honored conspired to sweep JCU in Berea Tuesday evening. Led by seniors Kelsey Hills (15 kills), Betsy Gilbert (.556 hitting percentage) and Meggie Marten (20 digs), the Yellow Jackets rolled to a 30-23, 30-17, 30-23 victory over the Streaks.
JCU was credited with a season-high 16 team blocks, but could manage just 27 kills while making 20 errors. Colleen Cavanagh led the way in both kills with seven and blocks with five.
The loss drops John Carroll's record to 11-16 overall and 2-6 in the OAC.
