The John Carroll University athletic department has reached an agreement with SportsTime Ohio to televise as many as 19 of its varsity sporting events which will feature six teams over the fall and winter seasons.
The schedule will consist of six fall contests, beginning with the John Carroll vs. Wooster football game on Saturday, September 1. Two other football games along with a soccer doubleheader and a volleyball match are also planned.
The winter schedule will be announced at a later date.
"John Carroll University is once again very appreciative of this opportunity provided by SportsTime Ohio," said JCU Director of Athletics Laurie Massa. "Last year, there was such a positive response to our student-run productions that it seemed imperative to continue our relationship for another season and to expand the schedule to cover more of our teams. Not only are we are extremely grateful for this increased exposure of our athletic programs … we also are very pleased to provide members of our student body more opportunities to be involved in a true learning experience by producing the broadcasts."
At this point, John Carroll's three September broadcasts have been added to the programming schedule. The football games against Wooster on September 1 and against Baldwin-Wallace on September 29 will air on a tape delay basis on the same night of the game. The Blue Streaks will follow the Cleveland Indians postgame shows on SportsTime Ohio at 10:30 p.m. on both Saturdays.
John Carroll women's and men's soccer doubleheader on Saturday, September 15, will air the following day at 12 noon. The women's match will be against Oberlin while the men will host the College of Wooster.
