Daigler's Hot Start Gets Blue Streaks Into Win Column At Olivet

Michigan native Lauren Marchioni left her home state a winner on Saturday

box score: vs. Olivet  /  vs. Albion

For the third time in four games, John Carroll University sophomore Elizabeth Daigler found the back of the net.

For the first time in four games, her goal was enough to help the Blue Streak women's soccer team win the match in which she scored.

Daigler's tally in the 49th minute this afternoon with an assist by Michigan native Lauren Marchioni would be the lone goal scored as John Carroll got into the win column in 2007 with a 1-0 victory over host Olivet College in a non-conference contest staged in Olivet, Michigan.

JCU, which improved to 1-3 with the win, held a slight edge in shots taken with an 8-7 margin.

Junior keeper Michelle Zrebiec made three saves for her first shutout of the season.

Earlier in the weekend, in a match also played in the state of Michigan, JCU fell by a score of 4-1 to Albion College. Daigler scored the lone goal for the Blue Streaks in the 81st minute.

John Carroll held a sizeable edge in shots taken, 12-4, but trailed by a 3-0 margin at the intermission and never recovered.
