JCU welcomed back Daniel Mizener back to the line-up, and he responded with an 11-5 victory
With most of its pieces back in place, John Carroll won eight of ten bouts to rout crosstown rival Baldwin-Wallace, 30-6, in an Ohio Athletic Conference match-up held at Ursprung Gymnasium in Berea, Ohio.
Elie Naoum (125) recorded a pin, Dominic Spitalieri (141) registered a technical fall, and Tim Lambert (285) posted a major decision as part of John Carroll's 18th consecutive win in the rivalry dating back to February 11, 1994.
JCU would score the first 17 points of the match. Naoum started things off by pinning Tyler Erwin at the 5:12 mark of the 125-pound bout. After Adam Pizzurro reached the 15-win mark for the fourth consecutive year with a solid 4-2 win over 19-match winner Brian Bucher at 133, Spitalieri would not yield a single point in a 17-0 technical fall over Cory Connell at 141.
The Blue Streaks welcomed Daniel Mizener back to the line-up after four weeks away recovering from an injury. He piled up points in an 11-5 victory RayShawn Eatmon.
Joe Incorvaia won for the second year in a row in a dual meet against John Carroll, slipping past Kevin Keough 3-0 at 157. But Devon Jurczak doubled up Korey Leonhard (10-5) at 165, and Steven Bagnowski gave JCU an insurmountable 23-3 lead at 174 when he posted a 3-1 decision in the first period of sudden victory.
Ben Adams improved to a team-best 21-2 by dominating Andrew Scavuzzo, 9-3, at 184. Scott Marhofer fell to Brian Haines by a 6-0 score at 197 pounds, but Lambert ended the night with a 10-0 major decision shutout of Arlon Brister at 285.
JCU improved to 7-6 with the win and moved to 3-1 in Ohio Athletic Congerence action, while Baldwin-Wallace slipped to 6-18-1 overall and 1-4 in the OAC.
