Box Score
Try as they might, the Blue Streaks were unable to avoid the fate that awaited them at the end of the volleyball contest tonight against the Capital Crusaders.
Under the bright lights of the television cameras on hand for the SportsTime Ohio broadcast, the Blue Streaks were swept in three games at the DeCarlo Varsity Center, 25-17, 25-17, 25-16.
The Blue Streaks were overwhelmed with the firepower of Capital, namely hitters Allison Hostetler, Kelly Steinman, and Jackie Helm. The success of these players was indicative of the entire Capital team as their combined 24 total kills were only two fewer than the entire John Carroll team.
In the meantime, the John Carroll attack was plagued with errors as the Streaks committed 19 errors at the net.
Laura Isbell had the high kill total on the night for JCU with eight.
Capital, which won for the 12th time in its last 15 matches, improved to 22-5 overall and 4-2 in the OAC. John Carroll fell to 1-3 at home this season, and its records dropped to 14-9 overall and 1-3 in league play.
