John Carroll started strong but could not sustain the effort in being swept on the road at Heidelberg in an Ohio Athletic Conference match Tuesday night.

After the Blue Streaks extended the 'Berg in game one, the two teams played another tight set in game two. But even with the return of all-conference outside hitter Meagan Gambone, JCU was unable to keep playing at a high level. The final score was 26-24, 25-22, 25-15.

Kristen Kidd had a team-high nine kills, while fellow rookie Kerry Fox had eight kills and a team-best .226 hitting percentage. Gambone had two kills and a block assist in her first action since being injured on September 10, 2008.

Freshman Gina Imbrigiotta had a carrer-high 27 digs, and sophomore Meredith McDiarmid posted 22 assists.

Heidelberg improved to 24-5 overall and 7-1 in the OAC, while John Carroll fell to 15-10 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
