Moments after earning a thoroughly convincing 4-0 victory Muskingum on "Senior Day" at Don Shula Stadium, the John Carroll Blue Streaks learned that they had earned a playoff berth in next week's Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament.

The JCU win, combined with Marietta's 3-0 loss to Ohio Northern, vaulted the Blue Streaks into the six-team OAC playoff field. The Blue Streaks will be either the #5 or #6 seed, depending on the outcome of Saturday night's match-up between Baldwin-Wallace and Wilmington.

Already guaranteed of the program's highest winning percentage since the 2000 season, the 2008 Blue Streaks began the day guaranteed of little else. JCU had to win its game and hope for a loss or tie by either Marietta or Baldwin-Wallace in order to qualify for the conference postseason tournament.

Elizabeth Daigler and Caitlyn Walton scored first half goals, while Erika Eberhardt and Val Korb added second half tallies as JCU outshot the Muskies, 24-2, in posting its 11th win of the year.

The Blue Streaks wrapped up the regular season 11-4-4 overall and 4-3-2 in the OAC. Senior Michelle Zrebiec made just one save in posting her eight shutout of the year.

John Carroll will play in the quarterfinal round of the OAC tournament at #4 Capital on Tuesday at 2:00 pm.
