Men's Tennis Continues Second Half Upswing With Victory At Heidelberg

John Carroll won for the fourth time in its last five matches with an impressive 8-1 win at Heidelberg College in an Ohio Athletic Conference match held Wednesday afternoon in Tiffin, Ohio.

JCU won all three doubles matches be a combined score of 24-8, then captured five of the six singles matches.

James Steward continnued his winning ways with a 6-2 6-3 win at #1 singles over Maxwell Norris. #2 singles player Matt Tomayko had a more dramatic victory in his match, rallying from a 1-6 loss in set one to capture the second set 6-3 and then the tiebreaker, 10-5.

Michael Finissi, #Ross Venzke#, and #Jeff Copp also won their matches in straight sets at 3, #4 and #5 singles, respectively.

John Carroll moved to 4-5 overall and 4-3 in the OAC with the win, while Heidelberg fell to 6-9 overall and 2-5 in the OAC.
