Box Score

On March 26, John Carroll dropped 15 runs against Case Western Reserve University in a 15-6 victory.

On Wednesday at Schweickert Field, the Blue Streaks did it again.

Using a six-run outburst in the first inning, John Carroll would roll to a 15-3 victory over its crosstown rival to win for the 21st time in 30 games this season.

Ryan Lewis, Mike Carbo and Sean McCarthy led off the first inning for John Carroll with back-to-back-to-back singles. A sacrifice fly by Adam Sockel and a bases loaded hit by pitch recorded by Russell Toth pushed across the first two runs, while John Hastings singled home the final two to give JCU a 6-0 lead.

Case scored twice in the second, but the Blue Streaks would tag two runs on the board in the third and three more in the fourth to put the game away.

Lewis and Carbo both had three RBI, McCarthy had three hits and Joe Bott scored three runs to pace a 15-run, 16-hit attack. Although there were no home runs hit by the Blue Streaks, Robert Cool and Tim O'Brien both had triples.

Five different pitchers made appearances, with starter Brandon Kurtz working five innings and allowing just two runs on five hits for his third win of the year. Adam Jenkins, Matt Carhart, Craig Willert and Conor Connell all worked one inning apiece and allowed a combined one run and one hit, striking out two and walking two.
