Blue Streaks Unable To Overcome Purple Raiders Depth In Women's Tennis Setback

John Carroll tried to pull off the upset, but the depth of the Mount Union Purple Raiders prevented such an occurence as the visitors edged the Blue Streaks, 6-3, Wednesday afternoon in University Heights.

Anna Navatsyk and Amy Marchlen captured the lone doubles point for John Carroll, defeating Leslie Douglass and Marissa Hollinger, 8-6

Mount Union used four victories in singles play to ice the match. The key win was turned in by Mary Beck, who edged Navatsyk at #2 singles, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.

The Blue Streaks' wins were turned in by Sara Crane at #1 singles and Marchlen at #3.

John Carroll is now 3-9 overall and 1-3 in the OAC, while Mount Union moves to 11-5 overall and 5-1 in league play.
