Box Score
John Carroll took leads in its first three matches of 2008 and made those leads stick. The fourth lead, however, did not hold as host College of Wooster scored two second half goals to hand the Blue Streaks their first loss of the year, 2-1, Saturday at Carl Dale Memorial Field in Wooster, Ohio.
Louis Kastelic tallied the first goal of the game in the 27th minute when he raced down a long pass and beat the Fighting Scots' keeper. Despite controlling the action, JCU led by just that single goal at the half.
Wooster would counter early in the second period. When the Blue Steak defense failed to clear a ball at the top of the box, Nate Florian would capitalize with his first career goal to tie the match.
The score remained 1-1 until the Scots earned a corner kick during the 83rd minute, when Davis Bates completed a set piece off a corner kick what turned out to be the game-winner.
Wooster improved to 2-3-1 on the year, while John Carroll fell to 3-1 in what was its first road contest of the season.
