John Carroll showed little mercy for either the Notre Dame Falcons or the scoreboard operator on Thursday night, posting its highest run total since 2006 with a 20-6 victory in a non-league contest held at Paul Serra Field in Euclid, Ohio.

The Blue Streaks tallied at least one run in seven of the nine innings to reach 20 runs in a single game for the first time since a 20-9 triumph over Case Reserve on April 2, 2006.

Notre Dame actually led early on by a 1-0 score after one inning of play, but JCu would score twice in the second, once in the third and once in the fourth top open up a 4-1 advantage.

The game would spin out of control in the fifth, as nine Blue Streaks would cross home plate. The highlight of the frame was a three-run home run by Mike Carbo.

Several Blue Streaks had career nights, starting with Carbo who ended up with career high totals with four runs scored, five hits and five RBI. Tim O'Brien was 4-6 with two doubles, two runs and three RBI.  Tom Hickey was 3-6 with two runs scored.

Brian Benander was 2-5 with two doubles and two RBI., while John Skomra, Bryan Robinett and Matt Pangallo all collected two hits as well.

John Hastings became the sixth Blue Streak in the 37-year history tof the program to record seven at bats in a single game.

John Carroll is now 13-5 on the year and has won three consecutive games.
