Thankfully, the John Carroll's men's soccer program has a very short list of four-goal losses in its history.

In fact, one must travel back to the end of the 2006 season to find the last time JCU lost by four goals on the road. But on that day, too, it was Ohio Northern that did the damage. Saturday afternoon in Ada, Ohio, JCU fell behind by three goals in the first 37 minutes and never recovered in suffering a 5-1 setback.

John Carroll's lone goal was scored by Corey Rider in the 61st minute off an assist by Ben Vietmeier. 

It was a rough day all around for the Blue Streaks, who were outshot by a 19-6 margin and had its coach ejected in the first half.

Ohio Northern improves to 14-3-1 overall and 6-0-1 in the OAC to maintain at least a share of first place, while John Carroll slips to 10-7 and 4-3 in the OAC. The Blue Streaks are alone in fourth place and need one more victory in their final two games to secure a league record 18th appearance in the 19-year history of the OAC postseason tournament.
