John Carroll built a lead, gave it away, then used a quick strike to pull out a well-earned 4-3 victory in double overtime over host and regionally ranked Penn State-Behrend Tuesday afternoon.

Jeff Kosek was the star in regulation, delivering his second career hat trick to put the Blue Streaks ahead by a 3-1 count. After the Lions opened up the contest with a goal at the 5:25 mark by Joshua Teti, Kosek would answer less than 30 seconds later. David Hickey fed Kosek a pass for the equalizer with 5:49 elapsed.
Despite outshooting PSU-Behrend by an 11-3 margin in the opening 45 minutes, the score was knotted at 1-1 at the break.
Kosek would catch fire early in the second period. At the 55:29 mark, Kosek zipped by the defense and sent a shot that glanced off the keeper's hands.Less than nine minutes later, Kosek put the visitors ahead by a 3-1 count on an assist b nathan Sharbaugh.
The host, which began the week ranked ninth in the latest NSCAA Great Lakes Region poll, would not go away. Two scores, one by Aaron Meehlwith 21 minutes to play and the other by Jake Gamble in the 88th minute tied the match at 3-3.
The Lions would outshoot the blue Streaks by a 3-1 count in the first overtime, but Wycliffe Odhiambo would end the drama just 42 seconds into the second with his third goal of the season.
The loss was PSU-Behrend's first of the year, and the Lions fell to 4-1-3, while John Carroll improved to 5-3 in playing their seventh road match of the season
