Familiar Storyline Plays Out For Blue Streaks As Football Team Falls In Alliance

But the only magic the John Carroll Blue Streaks know when visiting Alliance, Ohio, would fall in the category of curses.

John Carroll is now 0-14-2 in 16 trips to the home of the University of Mount Union, adding a 58-7 loss Saturday night to the ignominious list.

Mount Union scored the first 21 points of the night and never looked back in rolling up 631 yards of total offense.

JCU picked up its lone score with 34 ticks left in the first quarter on a Sean Kuenzig three-yard run. That play capped a seven-play 71-yard drive that made the score 21-7 at that juncture.

Ryan Winchell had a career- and game-high 16 tackles, while Matt Feeney had an interception to pace the defense.

Lane Robillotto had a team-best 129 all-purpose yards for John Carroll, which slipped to 0-2 on the year and 0-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. Mount Union improves to 2-0 and 1-0 in league play.
