The John Carroll women were fast out of the gate but could not hang on at Oberlin
Despite wins in two of its first three events Friday night in Oberlin, the John Carroll women's swimming & diving team could not maintain the early momentum in a 134-97 defeat to Oberlin College.
Results
The 200 Yard Medley Relay team of
Julia Adams,
Karyn Adams,
Lindsey Fano, and Tori Watson started fast for JCU with a victory and a 1:53.78 time, followed by an individual win by Watson in the 200 Yard Freestyle and
Julia Adams in the 200 Yard IM.
However, Oberlin took first in the next four events to give the Yeowomen control of the meet.
Other top finishers for the Blue Streaks were
Rachael Libertin in the 500 Yard Freestyle (
Maggie Donoghue was second) and
Danielle Ketterer in 3 Meter Diving (156.6).
John Carroll will look to bounce back at home on Jan. 25, when Hiram College visits the Johnson Natatorium for a 6:00 p.m. meet.
