Jake Hollinger was one of seven Blue Streaks with 10 or more points.
Box Score Shooting over 50 percent for the game the John Carroll University men's basketball team jumped out to a 26-point lead at halftime and scored a David V. Wise facility record 115 points during its 115-84 win over Alma.

Receiving a balanced scoring effort, the Blue Streaks proved to be no match for Alma as seven players reached double figures in scoring.
Jake Hollinger led the way with 16 points finishing 6-of-9 from the field. He added eight rebounds. Doug Caputo also gathered in eight rebounds for JCU and scored 11 points for the game.

Playing in just his second collegiate game David Linane directed the offense with a high degree of success scoring 13 points and distributing six assists. The Gilmour Academy product added a game-high four steals for the Blue Streaks.

Danny Wallack scored 12 points and Simon Kucharewicz chipped in with 11 off of the bench. Joey Vuyancih (14) and Will Starks (10) also reached double figures in scoring.

"It was a great overall team effort," said men's basketball head coach Mike Moran. "The way we play it is nice to get different guys involved so the opponent doesn't know where the points are coming from."

The Blue Streaks, who never trailed, dominated in the paint all afternoon scoring 52 points in the paint and having 25 points come off of turnovers.

Alma pulled within four at 30-26 with 7:26 remaining in the half. John Carroll countered with a 31-9 run to close out the stanza with eight players scoring led by Hollinger's six.

The Blue Streaks won the rebounding battle 55-42 and held Alma to just 5-of-25 on 3-pointers.

The win moved John Carroll to 2-0 on the young season for the first time since the 2010-11 campaign.

At the conclusion of the tournament Kucharewicz was named to the All-Tournament Team.

John Carroll will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 23 when it heads to the Buffalo State Coles Classic to take on Johnson & Wales University at 6 p.m.
