Wooster Lights Up Blue Streaks As JCU Baseball Suffers 10-1 Road Loss

Mitchell Herringshaw went 2-3 against the Fighting Scots
Box Score

The JCU baseball team traveled to the College of Wooster on Tuesday afternoon looking to stay sharp in preparation for the upcoming OAC Tournament.  The Fighting Scots, however, provided all the edge in a 10-1 drubbing of the Blue Streaks.

Aaron Lapaglia, who entered today's action unblemished on the pitcher's mound, was charged with four earned runs in the first inning to set the game's tone.  Wooster recorded a home run and a triple in the inning against Lapaglia, who dropped to 7-1 in 2013 after allowing five earned runs on eight hits in 6.1 innings.

Offensively, hits came at a premium for the Blue & Gold.  Mitchell Herringshaw and Mark Huddle combined for four of JCU's six bases knocked.

The Streaks got on the board in the top of the seventh on a sacrifice fly from Connor Marrero, but the Fighting Scots responded with six runs in the next two frames to thwart any comeback hopes.

Joe Veltri and Bobby Sabatino each had a hit for John Carroll (23-13, 11-5 OAC), which will travel to Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday for a single game at 4:30 p.m.
