The conditions were perfect, the temperature was warm, and the John Carroll baseball team led Baldwin Wallace, 10-2, in the fourth inning.

And then, the ground beneath the Blue Streaks began to crumble.

The Yellow Jackets got 11 runs on ten hits in the bottom of the fourth to erase an 8-run deficit and take a 13-10 lead on their way to a 23-12 victory in a nonleague game at BW's Heritage Field.

JCU looked to be in control early, especially after a 5-run second inning and 4-run top of the third.  Two-RBI hits by Joe Veltri and Jimmy Spagna highlighted the early onslaught.

Trailing 13-10, the Blue & Gold tacked on single runs in the fifth and sixth frames, but Baldwin Wallace ripped off back-two-back five-spots in the seventh and eighth to account for the final score.

Mitchell Herringshaw, Mark Huddle, and David Lykens each had two hits for a John Carroll team that suffered a rare off day on the pitcher's mound.

The Streaks (23-14, 11-5 OAC) will be back in action on Saturday, May 4 for a Senior Day doubleheader against Ohio Northern at Schweickert Field.
