It is always a great way to start a swim meet by winning the opening race.
John Carroll went one better, sweeping the top two places in the 200 yard medley relay to set the tone in what became a 126-111 win over host Allegheny College Friday night in a non-conference women's swimming & diving event.

Amanda Casamatta won the 200 Medley Relay in 1:54.09, while the "B" foursome of
Christine Gaab,
Teresa Prinster,
Megan Hawk and
Emma Connell edged the Allegheny "A" squad, 2:00.70 to 2:00.90.
WIth a big point grab right out of the gate, JCU began to pile up the markers.
Jane Verdi won the 1000 Free in 11:13.29, while
Victoria Watson (1:59.32) and
Katii Sheffield (2:01.61) went 1-2 in the 200 Free,
Carly Adams continued her outstanding debut season as the freshman won the 200 IM in 2:16.38, followed closely by Fano at 2:16.59.
After Crowley posted a win in the 100 Fly (1:01.76), JCU put the exclamation point on the victory with a 1-2-3 sweep in the 100 Free. Watson won in 54.18, with Sheffield taking second in 56.19, and Casamatta placing third in 57.03.
The Blue Streaks, for good measure, went 1-2 in the 100 Breast as Fano won in a time of 1:08.76 and Prinster took second in 1:14.03.
With the win, John Carroll improved to 4-1 on the year
