After not playing in two and a half weeks prior to Wednesday's contest, John Carroll (3-1, 2-0 OAC) rolled to its second conference win topping Capital (3-5, 1-1 OAC) 87-59 on Saturday afternoon in Bexley, Ohio.
"Capital is a tough place to play," said assistant coach
Frank O'Brien. "We are delighted to come out of their with the win."

John Carroll raced out on a 13-0 run midway through the first half. The Blue Streaks heated up during the run with a trio of 3-pointers from
Danny Wallack,
Derik Young and
Ryan Farragher. The run opened up a 29-14 lead.

Capital's Charles English had made it a two-point game with 12:55 remaining in the half. The Crusaders would not score again until the 8:43 mark.

The Blue Streaks' 7-0 run early in the second half made it a 27-point lead.
Jake Hollinger led the way on the run with three points.

For the game, John Carroll would shoot 50.7 from the field. The Blue Streaks added an equally impressive 48.3 mark from behind the arc.

David Hendrickson started the hot streak from deep burying his first two 3-pointers. The senior would score six of JCU's first eight points.
Derik Young would add three 3-pointers and finish with nine points.

Wallack led the way with a team-best 16 points. The junior finished 5 for 7 from the field including 4 of 6 from behind the arc.
John Cirillo narrowly missed a double-double with nine rebounds and eight points.

Ten total Blue Streaks found the scoring column with eight players scoring eight or more points.
"It was great to see our tremendous balance," said O'Brien. "It was nice to see so many guys step up and knock down the three ball."

John Carroll opens the home portion of its schedule with a 7 p.m. contest with Ohio Northern on Wednesday, Dec. 10.
Said O'Brien, "We are looking forward to playing our first game at the Tony DeCarlo Varsity Center on Wednesday."
