Four-Meet Winning Streak Comes To An End For JCU Women's Swimming & Diving

The John Carroll women's swimming & diving team had its four-meet winning streak come to an end Saturday afternoon as the Blue Streaks fell to Oberlin, 165-69.

JCU had beaten Mount Union, Defiance, Allegheny and Ohio Wesleyan in succession before running into a talented Yeowomen squad.

John Carroll scored a pair of race victories Saturday, as Amanda Casamatta won the 50 Free for the second consecytive days. In a hotly contested event in which first and fourth place were separated by one tenth of a second, Casamatta touched the wall first in 26.02 -- just ahead of Oberlin's Diedre Haren (26.07), John Carroll's Anne Crowley (26.11) and Oberlin's Jillian Sarazen (26.12).

Also picked up a win was Carly Adams in the grueling 400 IM. Her winning time was 4:46.64.

Adams was busy Saturday, also placing second in the 200 Back and third in the 200 Breast.

The loss drops John Carroll's record to 5-2 on the year.
